Dear aspiring author or illustrator,

I'm so sorry that I am not able to look at work sent to me through my site, for legal reasons and because I am too busy with my own work and that of my critique partners. Believe me, I know what it's like to need feedback, so I encourage you to engage with the huge community of children's literature folks out there – at home or online – who are very generous in all ways.

Please peruse the Resources for Writers and Illustrators that I've assembled especially for you, and which were incredibly useful to me when I began writing for children.
