- Skookalie Moolia Julia lives in caves in outer space, according to 19 children at the The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where we created characters, stories, and books in my "Art Daze: Scribbling Fun" Workshop.

- I’m sorry that these photos don’t show every step in our creation of "George, the Scribble", at the Zigler Head Start Center, in New Haven, Connecticut this month. Because he is quite a character: he wears a hat, plays the trumpet, and rides a motorcycle. A dozen different preschoolers helped draw him, beginning with one scribble. When is the last time YOU had this much fun?

- My next book, Blue Chicken, will be published by Viking in Fall 2011! It was described on Publishers Marketplace as "the story of an enthusiastic chicken who goes overboard when helping to paint a barn; pitched as Picasso during his Blue Period, but much happier and with feathers".

- I've teamed up with seven other children's authors from the Connecticut shoreline, at Write Up Our Alley, where we talk about children's books, the writing life, and "provide a variety of resources and expertise to teachers, librarians, parents and booksellers".
